Jennifer Heron
Positive Behaviour Support Clinician
ennifer Heron comes to PoDDSS primarily from a career within a Child protection environment, working as a therapist/counsellor and creating and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Jennifer has spent 17 years working with children and young people in a variety of contexts, from Out of home care, to Mother and Baby units and Child and Youth mental health. Jennifer was educated in Scotland and spent the first 10 years of her career working here, before arriving in Townsville. Jennifer has qualifications in Behavioural Science, CBT, ABA, Trauma and attachment and suicide prevention and awareness.

ennifer is familiar working with Children, young people and families from diverse backgrounds and is also familiar working within the fields of domestic violence and sexual assault, having spent time working in Townsville as part of the sexual assault response team.
I understand and appreciate the value of culture in our lives, incorporating this into my practice and prioritising culture when developing a positive behaviour support plan.
